Mitchell York Rite

The newly revitalized Mitchell York Rite bodies meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Mitchell Masonic Temple.  After several years of inactivity Mitchell Chapter, Mitchell Council, and St. Bernard Commandery are again working.  On April 8, 2011, with the assistance of York Rite Masons from across South Dakota, eight brothers sought further light in Freemasonry by joining the Mitchell York Rite bodies.  All York Rite Masons are welcome to join us on the first Tuesday and continue the growth and revigoration of the Mitchell York Rite.

Corn Palace Shrine Club

The Corn Palace Shrine Club is a part of El Riad Shrine, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  Our membership is drawn from a wide geographic area around Mitchell and consists of nearly one hundred and fifty Freemasons and Shriners dedicated to the support of Shriners Hospitals for Children.  Each year we sponsor the Corn Palace Shrine Circus at the World's Only Corn Palace.  All Shriners are invited to join the CPSC at its regular stated meeting on the last Thursday of each month.  We meet at the Mitchell Masonic Temple and other locations, announced in advance, around the area.  Oasis is at 6 p.m. and the dinner/meeting is at 7 p.m. Come visit the Corn Palace Shrine Club and Hillbillies on Facebook.

El Riad Shrine Hillbilly Clan #161

The CPSC parade unit, Hillbilly Clan #161, parades in communities all around eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota throughout the summer, has been to a number of Imperial Shrine sessions and every Midwest Shrine Association Summer Session since day one.  We're officially affiliated with the Shrine Imperial Hillbilly Clan and donate 100% of our fundraising efforts to Shriners Hospitals for Children.  You won't miss the Hillbillies in any parade.  They're outfitted with the best water guns you can mount on a 1929 Ford Model A flatbed truck and an early '50s Hudson Pacemaker - and produce the best acrid clouds of "parade smoke" you'll ever see!  Add a few "Hillbilly Hawgs" and it's a sight to remember.  In early October, 2011, Hillbilly Clan #161 created its first "Outhouse" by initiating a number of our brother Nobles from Sioux Falls and authorizing them to carry on the Hillbilly tradition along South Dakota's "Eastern Range."

El Riad Shrine Mitchell Clown Funhouse

We've got clowns! The El Riad Shrine Clowns have expanded to Mitchell.  Wally, Popcorn, Rex, and company have organized Funhouse #1 and filled a 3rd floor dressing room with grease paint, wigs, and other accoutrements of Shrine clowning.  These guys are fun loving, outstanding Shrine ambassadors - and absolutely dedicated and active members of the Corn Palace Shrine Club & Hillbilly clan #161.

Corn Palace Shrine Club Ladies Auxiliary

The Shrine Club boasts an active Ladies Auxiliary which meets Sunday evenings to plan, organize, and implement programs for the benefit of Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Third Tuesday Discussion Group

A group of Freemasons meets the third Tuesday of each month for wide ranging Masonic discussion.  We've had audio and video presentations, reviewed movies with Masonic themes, and pondered the misapprehensions of Freemasonry in modern society.  Got a topic you'd like to discuss?  Come to the Mitchell Masonic Temple at 7:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month!
